Fernando Tatis Jr

I am still mad about the Juan Soto trade. The Nationals didn't get enough for him. Washington could have gotten the entire San Diego farm system and it's not equal to a hitter as great as Soto, especially since he's just 23 and won't be a free agent for two more years.
Now the Padres have one of the best outfielders in baseball in Soto, one of the best third basemen in baseball in Manny Machado and the best shortstop in baseball, Fernando Tatis Jr. There is no way the Padres won't win the ....
Wait that can't be right That headline alert said Tatis was suspended for 80 games! WHAT!
San Diego thought it would get Tatis back for its stacked lineup. Nope now he's out... AGAIN. Tatis won't play a game this season because he has spent the entire year rehabilitating a fractured left wrist that he suffered in an offseason motorcycle accident. Now he was caught with steroids. That big three won't play together until next season.
This now has me wondering... if this had come out before the trade deadline, is Juan Soto traded to the Padres? Probably not, because the Padres would have waited till next year for their big all in push. Now the Padres don't have a shortstop, since C.J. Abrams was traded for Soto. The Padres would probably have wanted to wait for Tatis to come back before trading the future. Soto gives the team a three-year window to win the World Series, but the first crack at it won't include Tatis and now there isn't much of a farm system waiting to take over. It turns out, both Washington and San Diego may have lost the trade.
