My thoughts on the Darcey Kuemper Signing

Sorry to interrupt this trivia series but I have to give my quick thoughts on the Capitals signing Darcey Kuemper.


Fun fact, he is now the 13th highest paid goalie in the NHL.


I have mixed thoughts on the signing. On one hand, he just won the Stanley Cup and has been a really good goalie for a number of years. Kuemper was also really good with the Yotes, and they stink. He’s not just a creation of the Avs. On the other hand, it just feels similar to when the Caps signed Jose Theodore. Good goalie with the Avalanche paid money only to end up being average.


But the positives for this signing are huge. The Caps needed an experienced goalie and they got one. This signing could help the Caps get back to the Stanley Cup contention because it gives them a good goalie and gives their biggest weakness a shot in the arm.
