Things I have learned from this blog

Two years ago today, I released my first blog post. From the bottom of my heart, thank you to everyone who reads my blog and shares it because it makes me want to come back every single week (when I don't have crazy amounts of school work) and write a new post. My last blog post got over 180 views. That's incredible and I really appreciate everyone. If this is your first time reading my blog then you should consider subscribing. It doesn't cost anything and it's easy. All you need to do is fill out the subscribe form which appears when you first look at an article.
Anyway this week will be a list of four things I learned from doing this blog. Some will be funny, others will be serious. Let’s begin:
1: You get better at writing by writing: From my very first blog post to now I can see a major difference in my voice. There are fewer grammatical mistakes and my overall writing has vastly improved. This is all because I wrote blog post after blog post. With every post, I was essentially learning how to write and how to create my voice.
2: What-ifs take a long time to finish: My very first what-if post here was about Sean Taylor. It took three weeks to finish. These types of articles are my favorite and you may see a new one very soon. But I have learned that these are very time-consuming so unfortunately I can't do them every week.
3: Listen to my father’s predictions: Hopefully nobody comes to me in need of gambling advice. There have been several times that my dad has told me to make a prediction and I disagreed with it. My dad’s record in those games is 10-2 while mine is 2-10. I have learned that every so often my Dad can be smarter than me in sports and that I should listen to him.
4: New York sports fans hate me: Well, in fairness, not EVERY New York sports fan hates me. There are exceptions to this, like fans of the Bills, Sabres, Yankees and Mets – the last two simply because I don't talk about them enough. But the Jets, Giants, Rangers and Islanders fans hate me. Specifically Giants and Rangers fans are still looking for my secret bunker for constantly saying their team stinks. Sorry that it's true for the Rangers. As for the Giants, ask me after Sunday Night!
